About Me

Born in Lisbon, my family is from the islands of Sao Tome e Principe. I grew up in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. I’ve always been drawn to the arts but my early education was based in math and science. I was diagnosed with severe depression in 2010; I dropped out of college and went on a bumpy journey of self-discovery that included a family trip to Europe, an unhealthy relationship, an inevitable yet anticlimactic breakup, and a commitment to live life on my terms. This led to embracing a truth I had long since convinced myself was unrealistic…I’m a storyteller and I want to make movies for the rest of my life. I can’t say life has gotten easier but I’ve definitely gotten stronger. I went back to school and graduated from Tisch in 2016. Film life is stressful, the hours are long, the process is longer, but each project is a new journey and collaborating with creatives is an amazing exploration.

I lead with honesty and an open heart. I hope there is something for everyone on this humble site of mine. Let’s explore…
